I had kept a note to review this recipe after the holidays. I usually do buy ready plum pudding but this time I decided to give it a go. The result was a truly superb English plum pudding. My friends kept asking where they can get one from. Thanks for sharing.

One reviewer mentioned that tamarind needs to be used here. First I made a batch exactly as it is and then another batch with 2 tbsp tamarind pulp. I liked the one with the tamarind flavor but wouldn't say the first batch was not good. Valuable input though.

This is now my favorite pie. I had read somewhere to try ginger ale instead of water and maybe that did the trick. I am sure if you want to use the ingredients as it is this would still be one of the best strawberry pie out there.
