A gravy from South India goes well with rice.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg ash gourd

- 1/2 cup chana dal

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 2 sprigs curry, leaves

- 1 teaspoon tamarind pulp

- Salt to taste

- 1/2 teaspoon rice flour

- Seasoning

- 2 teaspoon oil

- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

- 1 sprig curry leaf

- Fry in 1 teaspoon oil and grind to paste

- 2 teaspoon coriander seeds

- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1/4 fenugreek seeds

- 1/2 teaspoon pepper corns

- 2 teaspoon chana dal

- A pinch of asafoetida

- 4 tablespoon coconut gratings

- 2-3 red chillies
