Homemade barbecue ham sandwiches only require just a few ingredients and can be made up quickly by beginner and experienced cooks alike.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds finely chipped ham
  • 1 bottle barbeque sauce, your favorite brand (or look up our recipe for homemade barbecue sauce)
  • 4 hamburger buns

Directions

  1. 1. Note: Chipped ham is found on deli lists as "chipped or chipped-chopped ham" in the Ohio Valley and further east to Pittsburgh, PA. In other locales we've had to instruct the deli person to "shave" the lunchmeat into wafer thin pieces to achieve the size needed for the recipe (which they've gladly done).
  2. 2. Place the lunchmeat in a two quart saucepan and cover with the barbecue sauce. Heat over a medium low burner for 10 to 12 minutes. Stir to break apart the pieces of ham and to keep the sauce from burning.
  3. 3. Serve with pickle slices, potato chips (or fries) and a lot of napkins.
