A steak salad made in combination with shiitake mushrooms that's very Thai but enjoyed all over.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb fillet (tenderloin) or rump (round) steak

- 2 tablespoon olive oil

- 2 small mild red chillies, seeded and sliced

- 8 ounces / 3 1/4 cups fresh shiitake mushrooms, stems removed and caps sliced

- For the dressing:
- 3 spring onions (scallions), finely chopped

- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

- Juice of 1 lime

- 2 tablespoon thai fish sauce

- 1 teaspoon soft light brown sugar

- 2 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)

- For the serving:
- 1 romaine lettuce, torn into strips

- 6 ounces cherry tomatoes, halved

- 2 inch piece cucumber, peeled, halved and thinly sliced

- 3 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
