- 1 tablespoon soy sauce

- 1 teaspoon finely chopped gingerroot

- Or

- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

- 1 (6 ounce) package frozen snow (chinese) pea pods -- thawed*

- Hot cooked rice:
- 1 cup uncooked regular long-grain white rice

- 2 cups water
