A classic Karnataka dish which is a combination of rice and dhal.
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw rice

- 1/2 cup thuar dhal

- 1 big lemon sized tamarind

- 1/4 up green peas

- 1/2 cup peeled small onions

- Salt as required

- 1 tablespoon oil

- For masala powder:
- 10 red chillies

- 1 1/2 teaspoons coriander seeds

- 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek

- 1/2 teaspoon urad dhal

- 1 tablespoon bengal gram dhal

- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

- 1” piece cinnamon

- 2 cloves

- (fry the above ingredients in half a teaspoon. of oil, until light brown & then powder it)
