Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons solid hydrogenated shortening

Directions

  1. 1. Note: If you do not use a hydrogenated shortening you will have to refrigerate the mix to keep it from spoiling.
  2. 2. In a large food processor combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Push the pulse button a few times to thoroughly mix the dry ingredients. Add the shortening a little at a time while pulse mixing. The final mix should resemble coarse cornmeal with a fairly consistent texture.
  3. 3. Store in a covered container.
