- 1/4 kg bitter gourd

- 100 grams brown channa (big)

- 2 teaspoons gingilly oil

- 1 tablespoon coriander powder

- 1 1/2 teaspoons. red chilli powder

- Salt to taste

- Tamarind extract big lemon sized

- 1 1/2 teaspoons rice flour

- For seasoning:
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds

- 1 teaspoon fenugreek

- 2 teaspoons. thuardhal

- 2 springs curry leaves

- 2 pinches asafoetida
