Black Forest cake consists of several layers of chocolate cake, with whipped cream and nuts between each layer.
 

Ingredients

  • 60 grams refined flour
  • 60 grams cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch soda bicarbonate
  • 120 grams sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 120 grams melted butter
  • 2 droups vanilla
  • For decoration:
  • 200 grams whipped cream (fresh)
  • 15 grams chocolate (grated)
  • Cashew nuts or walnuts

Directions

  1. 1. Line and grease two 18 cm (7") cake tins.
  2. 2. Sieve flour, cocoa, soda and baking powder together twice.
  3. 3. Beat eggs and sugar over hot water to custard consistency.
  4. 4. Lightly fold in sieved flour and melted butter, adding a little water to get a pouring consistency.
  5. 5. Put mixture in tins and bake at 205°C (400°F approx.) for about 20 minutes.
  6. 6. Cool and sandwich together with fresh cream and put a thick layer of cream on top.
  7. 7. Finish with chopped nuts on sides and grated chocolate on top.
