In English it translates to mean lightning cake. It's a quick and yummy cake to make for friends and family on any occasion.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 2 egg whites, whipped
  • For the topping:
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup almonds, blanched and chopped

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. 2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light. Add the beaten egg yolks, salt and flour. Fold in the whipped egg whites. Spread the batter evenly onto a greased cookie sheet.
  3. 3. To make Topping: Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl. In a different bowl beat the egg whites until stiff and then add half of the cinnamon sugar. Spread on the batter.
  4. 4. Sprinkle the almonds over the topping. Spread the remaining sugar and cinnamon evenly over all.
  5. 5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Cool slightly, cut in bars and remove to a cooling rack.
