Bourbon Eggnog

The holiday season just isn't the same without a cup or two of egg nog. With or without the bourbon it is truly a festive drink.
 

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • Grated nutmeg to taste

Directions

  1. 1. Beat egg yolks with sugar until light yellow. Add bourbon and blend well. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
  2. 2. Whip the cream until it is slightly thickened, fold into yolk mixture.
  3. 3. Beat the egg whites until peaks form and fold into mixture. Chill until ready to serve.
  4. 4. Serve in punch cups with a few gratings of nutmeg.
