A delicious ice cream recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 cup blanched almonds,
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions
- 1. Melt sugar slowly in heavy skillet, stirring constantly.
- 2. When sugar is melted and browned, add water, heat and stir vigorously until sugar is dissolved.
- 3. Add 1 cup milk and pour mixture into egg and salt.
- 4. Cook slowly 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Cool.
- 5. Stir in remaining milk and vanilla. Pour into freezer can and freeze, using 8 parts ice to 1 part salt.
