Ingredients
- 1 large sweet (vidalia) onion, peeled and sliced

- Buttermilk

- Oil for frying

- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

- 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal

- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt

- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

- 1 tablespoon smoky chili powder
