A freshly made strong hot coffee made with brandy.
 

Ingredients

  • 1-2 sticks cinnamon
  • 12 whole cloves
  • Peel of 2 oranges and 2 lemons cut into thin strips
  • 4 lumps sugar
  • 8 ounce brandy or cognac
  • 2 ounce (4 tablespoon) curacao (optional)
  • 1 quart hot strong black coffee

Directions

  1. 1. In a chafing dish or a large bowl, mash together the cinnamon, cloves, fruit peels, and sugar.
  2. 2. Stir in the brandy and curacao. Ignite carefully and gradually add black coffee, stirring until the flames go out.
  3. 3. Serve in heated cups or goblets.
