Ingredients
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

- 2 tablespoons water

- 1 teaspoon vanilla

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/8 teaspoon salt

- 8 vanilla caramels

- 160 pecan halves (about 2 1/4 cups)

- For the chocolate glaze:
- 1 ounce unsweetened baking chocolate

- 1 cup powdered sugar

- 1 teaspoon vanilla

- 2 teaspoons water (2 to 4 teaspoons)
