A simple salad recipe made of carrot.
 

Ingredients

  • 3-4 medium carrots
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1 tablespoon bland oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

Directions

  1. 1. Heat the oil in a small kadhai (wok) or frying pan, add the mustard seeds and cover till the spluttering subsides. Pour over the carrots.
  2. 2. Sprinkle in the lime juice and toss all together. Serve at room temperature.
  3. 3. Variation: Make it a raita by stirring 1 cup creamy curd, beaten till smooth, into the salted carrot. Baghar (tempering) with mustard seeds as above, and omit the lime juice.
