Wonderful cake with buttery golden texture made of cherry and almonds.
 

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup whole maraschino cherries well-drained
  • 1 tablespoon margarine or butter softened
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dry milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds

Directions

  1. 1. Make 1 1/2 -pound recipe for bread machines that use 3 cups flour, or make 1-pound recipe for bread machines that use 2 cups flour.
  2. 2. Measure carefully, placing all ingredients except almonds in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
  3. 3. Add almonds at the Raisin/Nut signal or 5 to 10 minutes before last kneading cycle ends.
  4. 4. Select Sweet or Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color. Do not use delay cycles. Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack.
