Brandy adds a little zip to this chicken liver pate recipe while cream cheese gives it body and spreadability.
 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound chicken livers
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese

Directions

  1. 1. Bring livers, onion, chicken broth and brandy to the boil. Reduce heat and let cook for 10 minutes.
  2. 2. Transfer to a blender; add paprika, salt and cayenne pepper. Blend on high. Add butter and cream cheese.
  3. 3. Pour into a mold or container. Cover and let stand in refrigerator until firm, about three hours.
  4. 4. Serve with crisp bread or flavored crackers.
