This is an easy to make chicken tikka masala recipe that’s more British than Indian. A truly delicious blend of spices and chicken in a thick gravy. Serve hot with rice or Indian breads.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons olive oil

- 5 cardamom pods

- 3 cinnamon sticks

- 1 1/2 onions, chopped

- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced

- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced

- 1 teaspoon cumin powder

- 1 teaspoon coriander powder

- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1 teaspoon pepper powder

- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

- 1 tablespoon red chili powder

- 1 large tomato, chopped

- 1 teaspoon tomato purée

- Salt to taste

- 3 chicken breasts, diced into cubes

- 3 1/2 tablespoons water

- Yoghurt or 1 can coconut milk, for the curry

- Fresh coriander to garnish
