The perfect summer accompaniment for barbeque and a host of other entrees, this coleslaw with dressing recipe is as American as a backyard grill.
 

Ingredients

  • 8 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup carrot, shredded
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. 1. Combine cabbage and carrots in a large salad bowl.
  2. 2. In a separate bowl add the remaining ingredients and stir thoroughly to combine.
  3. 3. Pour the dressing over cabbage and carrots and stir.
  4. 4. Refrigerate at least two hours before serving, overnight is even better.
  5. 5. Stir well after refrigeration.
