Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (1 package) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 4 ounces (1 stick) butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Directions

  1. 1. Note: This is a basic recipe. You might want to double the ingredients if you are going to frost a two layer cake.
  2. 2. Combine the cream cheese, butter and vanilla in a mixing bowl. With an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the ingredients together, scraping the sides of the bowl periodically, for about three minutes or until all is fully incorporated.
  3. 3. Turn the mixer to low and add the sugar, a little at a time until you get the desired texture and taste.
  4. 4. Add the frosting to your favorite baked treat.
