After you brown the meat let the crock pot take care of the cooking and blending of flavors with this crock pot hot dog chili recipe.
 

Ingredients

  • 4 hot dogs
  • 1 pound ground beef, browned and drained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms, cut up
  • 1/2 cup green peppers, cut up
  • 1 small jar tomato salsa (mild to hot as preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder

Directions

  1. 1. Cut the hot dogs in half lengthwise and then into one inch lengths, reserve until needed.
  2. 2. In a skillet over medium high heat, brown the hamburger with the onion and garlic. About half way through the browning, add the hot dog pieces. When the hamburger is no longer pink remove from heat and drain off the fat in a colander.
  3. 3. Combine all of the ingredients in a crockpot and add enough water to cover by an inch. Cover and set on low.
  4. 4. Let cook for six to eight hours.
  5. 5. Serve with sour cream, shredded cheese and guacamole if desired.
