Ingredients
- 8 diagonal slices from a french stick

- 1 large garlic clove, halved

- 175 g/6 ounces chestnut mushrooms, finely chopped

- 30 ml/2 tablespoons olive oil

- 15 ml/1 tablespoon dry vermouth

- Freshly ground black pepper

- 50 g/2 ounces stoned (pitted) black olives

- 5 ml/1 teaspoon lemon juice

- 15 ml/1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
