This recipe uses cake mix to alter the way you think of dessert bars. Delicious and sweet, you will love this unique dish.
 

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 package dry german chocolate cake mix
  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tub coconut pecan ready to spread frosting
  • 1/4 cup milk

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease rectangular pan, 13 by 9 by 2 inches.
  2. 2. Cut the butter into the dry cake mix in medium bowl using pastry blender or a fork, until crumbly.
  3. 3. Press about half of the mixture in the bottom of the pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
  4. 4. Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked layer; drop frosting by tablespoonfuls over chocolate chips.
  5. 5. Stir milk into remaining cake mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto frosting layer.
  6. 6. Bake for another 25 to 30 minutes or until cake portion is slightly dry to touch.
  7. 7. Let cool completely. Cover and refrigerate until firm.
  8. 8. Cut into eight rows by six rows. Store covered in refrigerator.
