Another variation for pudding toppers, this hot wine pudding sauce combines sherry with a sugared white sauce to produce a complex flavor profile.
 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/4 cup sherry wine

Directions

  1. 1. Put the butter in a saucepot over medium high heat. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly for two minutes; then add the sugar. Continue to stir and cook for another minute or until all is dissolved and forms a paste.
  2. 2. Add water gradually, stirring constantly, and cook until mixture thickens; add the sherry wine and continue to cook until all is heated throughout, about three minutes.
