Layered salads are very appealing with their variations of tastes and textures. This one uses tuna for the protein component.
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups cavatelli or medium shell pasta

- 4 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded

- 1 cup cucumber, seeded and chopped

- 1 cup tomato, seeded and chopped

- 1 large can chunk white tuna or 8 ounces flaked cooked tuna

- 1 cup frozen peas

- 1 small can sliced ripe olives, drained

- 2 hard boiled eggs, sliced

- 2 tablespoons green onion, sliced

- Oil free herb dressing (look up our recipe for this)

- 1/2 cup cheddar or american cheese, shredded
