Directions

1. 1. Note: To soften cream cheese quickly in the microwave remove the foil wrapper and place on waxed paper or microwave safe plate, uncovered. Microwave on medium (50 percent) for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes for eight ounces.
2. 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
3. 3. Prepare filling and crust as directed in steps 1 and 2 of bar mix except bake crust 12 minutes.
4. 4. Drop cream cheese by spoonfuls onto hot crust and return pan to oven for about two minutes to further soften the cream cheese. Carefully spread cream cheese evenly over crust.
5. 5. Stir the packaged filling mixture and pour it over the cream cheese layer.
6. 6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the top begins to brown and center is set. Let cool for 10 minutes.
7. 7. Spread preserves over top and let cool completely.
8. 8. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows. For easier cutting use a wet knife. Store covered in refrigerator.
