Here's a recipe for homemade cookies patterned after the always popular mint cookies. Make them at home with simple ingredients and easy to follow directions.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 box devil's food cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 package chocolate chips
  • 2 or 3 drops mint flavoring

Directions

  1. 1. Combine cake mix, eggs, water, cooking oil and cocoa. Blend together really well. Let stand for 20 minutes and then shape into small 1/2 inch balls.
  2. 2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  3. 3. Place the balls of dough on a cookie sheet two inches apart. Spray a large spoon with cooking spray and use that to flatten the dough balls into a cookie shape.
  4. 4. Bake for about 8 minutes (some ovens vary). Let the cookies cool on racks until they reach room temperature.
  5. 5. Heat the chocolate chips in either the microwave or in a double boiler. When completely melted add a couple drops of the mint flavoring. Be careful not to add too much, mint is a powerful flavoring.
  6. 6. You can either spread the melted chocolate on the cookies or you can dip the cookies into the chocolate.
