These old fashioned molasses muffins are sometimes called refrigerator muffins because the batter can be stored in the refrigerator, in a covered container, for up to three weeks.
Ingredients
- 4 cup unbleached flour, sifted

- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1 teaspoon ground ginger

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

- 1 1/3 cups vegetable shortening

- 1 cup sugar

- 4 large eggs, slightly beaten

- 1 cup molasses

- 1 cup buttermilk

- 1 cup raisins
