This Norwegian cookie recipe doesn't require any special equipment and uses ingredients you probably already have around the house.
 

Ingredients

  • 6 hard cooked egg yolks
  • 6 egg yolks, uncooked
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1 egg white, slightly beaten
  • Coarse granulated sugar

Directions

  1. 1. Force cooked egg yolks through a sieve. Cream with uncooked egg yolks, salt and sugar.
  2. 2. Add butter and flour alternately, a little at a time. Cover and chill until stiff.
  3. 3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Prepare a sheet pan either with cooking spray or foil.
  4. 4. Roll into pencil shape, 1/4 inch in diameter and 5 inches long. Shape into rings, crossing the ends. Dip in egg whites, then in sugar and place on the prepared sheet pan.
  5. 5. Bake for eight to ten minutes.
