Here's a traditional cobbler recipe that never gets old; a fruit mixture is covered with biscuit dough and baked in the oven. Any fruit can be substituted for the strawberries.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds of whole strawberries (7 cups)

- 1 cup of sugar plus 2 tablespoons on top

- 1/2 cup heavy cream (or milk)

- Butter for top of crust

- For basic biscuit dough:
- 2 cups sifted flour

- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 4 tablespoons butter or shortening

- 1/2 tsp. salt

- 3/4 cup milk
