Excellent on many different desserts, this pineapple cream sauce recipe also works very well as a dressing for fruit salad.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 cup whipped cream

Directions

  1. 1. In a double boiler combine the pineapple juice, egg yolks, lemon juice, sugar, mustard and salt, mix well.
  2. 2. Cook, stirring regularly, until smooth and thickened, about 20 minutes.
  3. 3. Let cool; fold in the whipped cream.
  4. 4. Chill until ready to serve.
