The traditional hot, spicy and tangy Rasam soup from South India prepared in a typical Malnad style is very good for digestion and can be served with or without rice.
Ingredients
- 4 medium tomatoes

- 3 tablespoons cooking oil

- 1 tablespoon mustard seeds

- 3 sprigs of curry leaves, sliced thin

- 1 medium onion, chopped

- 3 green chilies, slit and remove seeds

- 2 tablespoons garlic paste

- Salt to taste

- 1 tablespoon red chili powder

- 1 tablespoon cumin powder

- 1 teaspoon turmeric

- 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp (thick)
