- For the dough:

- 3 ounces freshly shredded cheddar cheese

- 1 1/4 cups cold water (for richer biscuits use butter milk)

- For garlic spread:
- 1/2 cup melted butter

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/8 teaspoon onion powder

- 1/8 teaspoon dried parsley
