This variation on sourdough biscuits uses a fermenting technique which probably brings them in line with how they were made in the old days.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup active starter (see our recipe to make this up)

- 1 cup milk

- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

- 1 tablespoon sugar

- 3/4 teaspoon salt

- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/3 cup lard (or shortening)

- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
