Here's a taco seasoning mix that will add bold full flavors to your hamburger. This homemade mix will make up enough filling for 12 tacos at about three tablespoons each.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground oregano

Directions

  1. 1. Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  2. 2. To use the seasoning mix - brown one pound of ground beef in a large skillet. Drain the fat.
  3. 3. Return the meat to the skillet and add seasoning mix along with 2/3 cup of water; mix completely.
  4. 4. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low and cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. 5. Spoon the meat into warmed taco shells or tortillas. Top with shredded lettuce, grated cheddar cheese and chopped tomato. Use fresh salsa and guacamole if desired.
