Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

- 1/2 cup shortening

- 1 teaspoon vanilla

- 1 egg

- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1 (6 ounces) package white baking bars, cut into 1/4 to 1/2 inch chunks

- 1 (3 1/2 ounces) jar macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
